Privacy policy

scribili is made for children, so we collect as little data as possible: no account, no ads, no trackers. Here is exactly what happens with your data.

What stays on your device

Drawings, their history (for undo and video), your chosen language and the list of your shared links are stored in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to us. You can delete them at any time from My drawings or by clearing the site’s data in your browser.

PNG images and timelapse videos are created directly on the device.

What is sent to our servers

  • Drawings shared by link: when you tap “Share link”, the drawing (its lines and stickers) and a preview image are stored so the link works. Anyone with the link can see it.
  • Comments: the text and optional first name entered under a shared drawing are public to people who have the link. Web links are not allowed. Do not write personal information there.
  • Anonymous interest statistics: when you click “Contribute”, “Sponsor” or answer the printing survey, we record the action, the amount or choices, and the language, without any identifier.
  • Anonymous usage statistics: the pages visited, the site or campaign you came from, the language, the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer) and steps such as drawing, sharing or installing the app. They are only grouped by a random session number that is forgotten when the tab is closed, plus a note that the device has visited before. We keep no IP address and no browser fingerprint, and delete these statistics after 13 months.
  • Payments: contributions are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered at Stripe and never sent to us; Stripe may use its own cookies to prevent fraud. So that your links stay online, a random identifier of your device, not tied to your identity, is attached to the payment.
  • Technical logs: like any website, our host may temporarily process technical data (IP address, browser) to keep the service secure and running.

We do not sell or rent any data, and use no advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

Hosting and service providers

Your data is processed by these providers, only to run the service:

  • Hosting: Lovable Labs Incorporated, 1 Lincoln St, Boston, MA 02111, USA, on the network of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. It serves the app and processes technical logs.
  • Database: Supabase, Inc. (EU). It stores shared drawings, comments and anonymous statistics.
  • Payments: Stripe, which handles the payment, taxes, receipts and fraud prevention under its own privacy policy.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union, notably in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Children

The app never asks for a name, age, email or photo. Sharing, comments and payments are meant for adults: we recommend that a parent does or supervises them.

Retention and your rights

A shared link and its comments are removed after one month without activity (update, visit, comment or reaction). Sponsored drawings, and links shared from a device that contributed to the project or sponsored a drawing, are kept forever.

You have the right to access, correct and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise them, or to have a link or comment deleted, write to contact@scribi.li with the address of the link concerned; we answer within one month. A parent can make these requests on behalf of their child. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
